One day a special singing teacher suggested me to buy this book without telling why I should read it. When I first saw the tittle I thought that was a curious suggestion, but then I realized there was a special message inside it. “Zen in the Art of Archery” by Eugel Herrigen is a strong book about intuition, hard work, transcendental wisdom and self-knowledge.
Spirituality and internalization are some concepts explored in this book. It also talks about perfection step by step and the importance of respecting our own time. The way to make Art without artifice is to be natural and true.
This is all explored through Zen concept and the rigorousness of Archery. As it says:
“Who choses an easy beginning finds a difficult end.”
This special way of explaining the essence of Art in general is really inspiring. One step at a time and we can talk about artistry.
What a great small book! Please read it!
